Structural incentives the evidence base may reflect

Commercial pressure in this topic is lopsided and easy to trace. On the "boost" end sits a large supplement and functional-food industry whose entire pitch requires you to believe (a) your metabolism is slow/broken and (b) a purchasable thing fixes it. Every "metabolism booster," thermogenic, "fat-burning" spice extract, and "eat every 3 hours" programme monetises that belief. This is the dominant, most distorting bias in the space.

The clean signal: the interventions that actually help — building and keeping muscle, moving through the day, an aerobic base, not crash-dieting — cannot be sold as products and have no sponsor amplifying them.
